Prenatal & Family Classes

Our experienced nurse educators lead prenatal classes, including several free classes, for parents having a baby at the Family Birth Center. Registration is required to attend a class.

Breastfeeding Your Infant
Learn the essential skills to accomplish your breastfeeding goals. This class will set the foundation for you to have a successful and positive breastfeeding experience. Taught by a registered nurse certified lactation counselor.

Childbirth Tour
Take a guided tour of the Women's Care Center and Mother and Baby Care (postpartum) units.

Infant Care for Expectant Parents
Learn the skills unique to taking care of your newborn, including bathing, diapering, safe sleep and skin care. Lots of hands-on learning! Taught by a certified maternal-newborn registered nurse.

Infant CPR and Safety
Learn and practice life-saving skills of infant CPR, also how to respond to a choking infant. Build your knowledge to keep your infant safe. Includes car seat safety and home safety.

Labor Preparation for Expectant Parents
Learn about the stages of labor, methods of comfort and pain relief, and the self-care measures essential during the postpartum recovery period. Partner/support person welcome. You will leave this class feeling empowered!  Taught by a registered nurse.

Lamaze Childbirth Preparation
Take this weekend course with your spouse, partner, co-parent or support person, as you both learn how to prepare for your childbirth experience.

Partners Workshop
Expectant partners are invited to attend this free workshop. During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to participate in lots of hands-on learning, including how to hold, bottle-feed, diaper, swaddle, soothe, and provide a safe sleep environment for your baby.

Sibling Preparation
Help your child prepare to be a big brother or sister. All ages welcome.
