Breastfeeding Your Infant

In this free class, a registered nurse helps expectant parents learn about breastfeeding essentials, including:

  • Infant latch-on and positioning
  • Monitoring infant intake and output
  • Maternal diet
  • Troubleshooting problems

Additionally, we provide an introduction to breast pumps and discuss planning needs for mothers returning to work. We also discuss the role of fathers and partners in breastfeeding and skin-to-skin.

Registration is required to attend a class. Classes are closed once registration reaches maximum capacity. If you do not see a class date that matches your availability, please call (773) 702-9200 to check for potential openings due to cancellations or to join the wait list. In many cases, wait list participants are invited to join the class.  We do our best to accommodate every class request.
